• Steel Industry: used as flux, desulfuriser, and slagging.

• Metallurgy Industry: in the manufacture of copper, zinc, lead, silver… Lime is used in the melting, concentration, and refining processes for the above metals.

• Paper and PPC Industry: used mainly for causticizing, for recuperation of sodium hydroxide allowing for the reuse of CaCO3 from the process of pulp manufacture. In PPC it is used as a charge and pigment for top quality paper.

• Agriculture: acts as a regulator for pH, precipitator for impurities and neutraliser.

• Mining Industry: is used for flotation, leaching and cyanidation of metals such as gold and silver.

• Construction: for soil stabilization.

• Environmental protection: for treating contaminated land, prevent bad odours, and decontamination of water both industrial and urban, as well as treating toxic and dangerous waste.

• Sugar industry: for clarification and alkalising of the sugar cane juice. It increases the pH and agglomerates several impurities.

USES AND BENEFITS

• Steel Industry: it acts as a purifier for different steels and as a protector for refractory coatings.

• Refractories: it is used as raw material for the manufacture of refractory bricks and for increasing the useful life of the refractory coatings in ovens.

• Glass: is used in the manufacture of flat glass to improve stability, diminish de-vitrification, increase the viscosity of glass, it increases the resistance to temperature change and allows reducing the quantity of Silica and fluxes.

• Agriculture: it is used as a corrector to neutralize acidity in the soil, to prepare the soil so that the crop assimilates nutrients, among other uses.

USES AND BENEFITS

• Environment: for water and sludge treatment and improvement, it disinfects, acts as a regulator for pH, for treating municipal waste, rust stabilisation and control, disinfectants for sewage and organic waste, re-mineralise water that is too soft, among others.

• Metal and Steel Industries: it acts as a regulator for the pH of water used in electrolytic processes for obtaining metals and as a neutraliser and corrector of acid water, used in the pickling and cleaning processes of metal surfaces.

• Mining Industry: the product acts as a regulator of the pH of the water generated in the process, prior to draining to a river, allowing at the same time the separation of metals contained in those waters for reusing. Also used in effluent and waste treatment, as well as the settling, drying, filtration, environmental protection, and safety in mines.

• Construction: for stabilising land by improving stability and impermeability by increasing its density, for mortars offering increased plasticity and workability as well as increasing resistance and with low retraction properties. It can also be used as an additive for the manufacture of asphalt as an anti-separation agent reinforcing the links in the interior of the structure and reducing sensitivity to humidity.

• Agriculture: as a regulator of pH in the soil, vegetable nutrients, fertiliser, fungicide, and steriliser, among others.

• Sugar Industry: for clarifying the product by acting as a regulator of the pH and precipitating impurities. It improves filtration and removes small particles and fibres.
